5)      Project Abstract:

a) The Project Objectives

The key objectives of the project are to strengthen the communication and contact between the European 25 members countries and Chinese SMEs; to enable the participating EU and Chinese companies with better knowledge of business environment, cultural background and sector-related market information in the target countries and potential business partners; to organize face-to-face business match-making meetings among selected European and Chinese companies in the focused business sectors; and to foster long-term cooperation between EU and Chinese enterprises.

b)  Brief keyword description of the main activities

The main activities of the project include: to establish network among the project partners; to elaborate work plans; to collect market information; to develop best practice tools; to construct project website; to promote Asia-Invest programme and the project; to identify European companies and create company profiles; to distribute the European company profiles in China; to pre-search for potential China partners; to screen and select; partner companies and establish company profiles; to create match-making catalogue; to organize well-coordinated sector-related business-to-busines match-making meetings; to conduct  follow-ups after the match-making meeting; to write evaluation reports; 

        c) Milestones/Key Indicators

·Establishment of a well functional project partner network / regular exchanging of information and communication, full cooperation in project related activities .

·Project preparation, which is sufficient to the needs of participating companies and project implementation. / integrate working plan, sector specific market information, curricular for workshops, project website.

·Identifying the European participating companies. / project promotion, workshops, number  in-take of the European participating companies, selecting, identifying and establishing company profiles of at least 600 European visiting companies.

·Identifying the Chinese participating companies / distributing the European company profiles, pro-search for potential partners among the Chinese companies, identifying the at least 1200 Chinese participating companies and establishing company profiles.

·Organizing business-to-business match-making meeting / making catalogue, efficiency of meeting programme and facilities, number of business-to-business meetings, The main activity will be two days of face-to-face business meetings between China and European companies. 

·Follow-up and evaluation / Follow-up records and final evaluation report
